Welcome to the website of the Farmingdale council of the Knights of Columbus, the world's foremost Catholic fraternal organization. Our council is located on Morton Street, just off of westbound Route 109 behind 7-Eleven. We are part of the 11th District of New York State in western Suffolk County.

Our council hall is available for rental. To learn more, click the link to the left.

Since our founding in 1920, Farmingdale council has embodied the K of C's core principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism in our service to our church and community. We are affiliated with St. Kilian Parish, where our members serve as ushers and Eucharistic ministers and our Honor Guard members can often be found assisting our clergy during Mass.

The members of our council perform many acts of charitable service, including:

  • Fund-raising activities to support Special Olympics, cancer research, and other charities
  • Youth programs and Catholic school activities, including the Columbian Squires, free throw contest, and school track meets
  • Promoting pro-life and pro-family Catholic values through prayer nights, the Keep Christ In Christmas campaign, political awareness, and participation in the annual March For Life in Washington, DC
  • Supply collections for our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq
  • Participation in blood drives, town festivals, and other civic events
For the latest schedule of upcoming activities, check our events calendar.

The Knights of Columbus was founded in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney, for the purpose of providing Catholic men with an alternative to the Freemasons and other popular "secret societies" of the era. It gave them a chance to unite in their faith and provide financial security for their families during a time of economic hardship, disease, and widespread anti-Catholic sentiment.

Today the K of C is the world's largest Catholic family fraternal service organization with over 1.7 million members. It provides members and their families with volunteer opportunities in service to the Catholic Church, their communities, families and young people.
